The Other Shoe Drops

Tonight, Lila asked to be released for very good reasons. I don’t feel the need explain them here. It didn’t come as a surprise since it had been touch-and-go lately with different things going on in her life. We will always be friends and we will always care about each other. We ended things nicely.

Phoebe, bless her heart, has been monitoring me closely through today. We weren’t able to see each other but lots of phone calls and texts. She knew that I was going to have an upcoming conversation with Lila and was rather nervous about it. Yes, it played a small part of my “lesser than” feelings, but only a small part of it.

Swinger versus Poly

I don’t want to write an entire post about this so I’ll include it here. I read a very good description of the difference between these two mindsets of kink. Basically, Swingers are just out for the sex, period. There is no wish or need for a relationship of any kind. It really is the Slam, Bam, Thank you, Ma’am kind of thing. Poly does want a relationship and a getting to know each other before, during, and after a play time or dynamic.

It was very helpful to learn this since Phoebe was approached by a fellow on Fet who wanted to meet both of us with his girlfriend but assured us they weren’t just Swingers but into some BDSM. We politely declined and I am glad we did since neither Phoebe or I wish for this kind of one-night-stand approach.

Fantastic Four

It’s been a while since I did a movie review but I’ll just throw this into the quick note pot. Fantastic Four is very good. I was a little worried since Marvel has been a bit wacky lately, but this was just good, old-fashioned comic book fun. It has a scene after the credits but it isn’t a huge deal if you’ve already watched, like me, the old fantastic four cartoons. It’s worth watching in the theater more than once.
