Thanks to Shimmering Muse for the inspiration.

To bend is not surrender,

To bend is just a choice.

To kneel is not defeated,

To kneel, it shows respect.

Submission isn’t one-and-done,

It’s a flowing, vibrant thing,

With ebbs and flows,

It comes and goes,

And grows far past its field,

When nurtured, cherished, yes,

and loved,

The bend, the kneel, submits.

It’s not an ending but a beginning,

There is no end to it.

  1. “It’s not an ending but a beginning.” LOVE this! It would be so easy to say, from the outside looking in, that to submit is to yield completely and to give up all agency. But for those of us who are privileged to be on the inside looking out, we know that submission is a powerful, “vibrant” state full of nuance, beauty, grace, and strength.

I always enjoy your poetry, Jon! Thanks! 🙂

  2. This flowed so gently yet powerfully!
    ‘Submission isn’t one-and-done… it’s a flowing, vibrant thing’—especially this line 🔥
Thank you for letting my words be the spark to this beautiful poem. Loved it.

    1. Thank you for your kind praise. I’ll repeat what I said on your blog. I take no credit for understanding this. I was taught and foolish is the Dom that thinks he cannot learn much from his submissives! Thanks for your vote of faith. 🩶
