This is partially in response to a comment made yesterday by one of my readers. I wanted to address what he had brought up. Didn’t ask if he minds if I quote him but “I love your imagination. It’s so far from reality and yet so true to real life.” I took and take this as a great compliment.
The thing is…I have my own feelings about what IS reality.
Science has shown in several different ways that particles will change their state when they are observed or measured. In other words, we perceiving them changes what they become. For those interested, Google “Double-Slit Experiment.” I promise it isn’t dirty. 😉 It’s an actual experiment that has been repeated several times with the same results.
Based on this scientific knowledge, I put forth that our reality is what we make it. Think about it. You know there are some people who can go through the same experience in a day, say a river-rafting trip. One of these people return and tell a marvelous tale of excitement, danger, and enjoyment. Another person in the same raft returns with a recounting (not a story) of a dismal, frightening, near-death experience that was horrible! It’s the same experience but seen differently by two people. For our first one, the reality is it was GREAT! For the second one, the reality is it was HORRIBLE.
At work or elsewhere, there are people you avoid because all they do is see the world through yellow-tinted glasses or full of cynicism, doubt, prejudice, and revulsion. They are downers to talk to and be around because they drag you into their reality.
I chose the artwork above because of what I think of as the love injection. When we fall in love or lust with someone, our reality of how they look to us changes. They become more beautiful or handsome. They are more sexy and desirable. If you really, really stop and think about it then you can dispel the love effects for a moment but they will come back.
The man will always see his lover as the young lover she was OR is in his eyes. The young woman, thank God, can see the older man yet see a handsome, confident, dominant, and sexy man. We…make…our… own reality. Some are just better at it than others.
I’ve had friends and submissives and ones who are both tell me I come across as “larger-than-life.” It’s because I try very hard not to let some supposed reality from somewhere dictate what I am or will be. I don’t let it create my surroundings. I do that. I work at that. I make it. You can, too.
It IS something like playing an instrument or poetry or such in that some are just born with a better talent at it than others. Some people were born to be great pianists. The rest can work very hard to be a little better than adequate pianists. It’s just how it is.
Anyway, I hope I didn’t break any brain cells and I hope a few of you are still reading this to the end. 😉 Thanks for sticking it out.
